Rainy Weekend

It rained here all Saturday and part of today. The break wasn't bad -- it made us do something different than the pool or the ocean. But we're all looking forward to nicer weather tomorrow. Jonathan was going to take the boys to a movie on Saturday, but instead, he took them to the Bass Pro Shop which they LOVED. Here they are driving a boat :)
Both boys are becoming good friends with Uncle Chris. They like to play with him and borrow his things... this is Wyatt wearing his hat. They used it earlier as a garage for their matchbox cars. I'm not sure he knew about that!
Today was also Reuben's birthday! Beth made him a cow cake, but before we ate it, we all went to a place called Pompano Joe's. It's a seafood restaurant right on the beach. It's crazy loud in there so it's a good place to take five kids :) Everyone enjoyed... see group photo below!

Home for cake after dinner... along with a beautiful sunset!
In b/t the rain on Saturday, we took the boys for a walk over to Jolee Island. The boys call it Treasure Island. I think I mentioned it before. There's a big bridge that crosses over the bayou to get to it. It's really just a preserved little island that they have put paths and trails on plus some play areas. In the middle of the island, they've created a big open green space where you can throw a frisbee, etc. It's a great place to take the boys to explore for geccos and other outdoor life. There is a little beach there too, and you can just watch fish jump out of the water. It is very cool!
This is a picture on the bridge to Jolee Island -- our house is on the left.
Playset and beach on Jolee Island.

I'm so glad you're having a fun time. A little rain is no problem when you're on a two week vacation. The group photo is so great : ) ... little Myles tugging at Devon's ear
