Relaxing

So far, this vacation has been very relaxing. Even despite having 5 kids along, we've still found time to just sit, talk, read, enjoy good food, and enjoy the kids. I love when the only decision for the day is should we go to the pool or the beach? There is absolutely no agenda... which makes for great open-ended afternoons. The kiddos have been sleeping, painting, play-dohing, eating popsicles while sitting on the dock, riding scooters to the pool, and playing in the waves at the beach. There is also an island called 'Jolee' right out our back door. You take a big walkway/bridge over to it and it is just a island in the intercoastal waters that is set up for exploration.

The really nice thing about where we are staying is that the pool is about a 3-min walk, the beach is about a 3-min drive with very easy parking and very easy access (we don't even have to get on a main road), and we can also walk to a Starbucks plus multiple other eateries, and multiple playgrounds. For small children, it is very nice to not have to get in the car often. I know some day our kids will be older and we'll enjoy more active vacations, but for now, this low-key schedule is key. And, the kids are exhausted at the end of each day! They expend so much energy playing and swimming that they take naps and still are asleep by 8pm.

*The boys are loving their Uncle Chris!*
