Don't Ask, Don't Tell - Volume 10

We have always said that Henry is our 'cautious' child. He is the rule-follower... He's never been overly curious, and actually, the times he's done the strangest things (like cover himself in hand soap) has been when he's with his friend, Anna. (Sorry Pam!) However, Wyatt is proving to be a different breed.
1. I laid him down for a nap the other day... I ran upstairs about 20 minutes later to grab something, and this is what I see in the laundry room. My new container of floss... completely unraveled along with the evidence that seals his fate.
2. I download pictures the other day and I find these interesting shots.
3. No pics to show b/c I didn't want to make light of this... but another day this week, I didn't even know he was up from his nap. I here something in the laundry room. So I look upstairs, and there is Wyatt with the container of bleach trying to unscrew the cap. It sits above the washer... I'm still trying to figure out how he got it. (I guess that is why these are labeled 'don't ask, don't tell.) He must have turned the laundry basket over and stood on top.
4. And yet ANOTHER day this week after his nap, I hear him calling my name at the top of the steps. He's whimpering and pointing his finger at me. I can't tell b/c of shadows what is on his finger, but it looks dark and something else is all marked all over his bare belly. THANKFULLY, it was not poop. It was a container of lipstick that he destroyed... stuffed his finger down it and rubbed it all over the tile floor and and his belly. Should have grabbed the camera, but I was sweating and already up and down the steps and I wasn't bound to make another trip down just to grab the camera!

*Amy Frederick, maybe we should find some nannies who can keep an eye on our kids :)

3 things...

1. I'm due anyday hopefully... but not getting my hopes up since I really have until July 9th!
2. We had a great Father's Day... a wonderful family day! We make Jonathan a photo album every year - and we also got him a new travel coffee mug this year. We went to get ice cream together at the end of the day. Very relaxing... and Jonathan thoroughly enjoyed it!
3. A little visitor in our back yard... how exciting!

Memorable Things Kids Say - Volume 12

I've been wanting to blog about Henry for awhile. He has been asking the cutest 4-yr old questions. Sometimes it's hard to believe we have a child old enough to come up with things like this... it's so adorable. Here's just a smattering of the most recent and I've already forgotten a few:

1. Mom, why did God make our mouths so wet?
2. So do you think there will be hoops in heaven? Will I be able to play out front by myself? There will be no bad guys in heaven, so I should be able to shoot baskets out front by myself.
3. Where does the sky end? I see the ground, but I don't really see where the sky touches it.
4. How is the baby going to come out of your stomach? (Thankfully, he accepted a really simple answer on this one!)

There are more, but I just haven't been writing them down fast enough to remember. Oh well, I'm sure there are many more to come. 

We have been busy

We have been busy, but not documenting much of it. We were at a retirement party in Upland for J's dad... 39 years of teaching! It was a great time and I wish I had taken more pictures! My parents came to visit as well, but again, I never pulled out my camera. So, here is all I have from the past few weeks. Henry is swim lessons - he's in the 2nd level and doing great. It's a good work out for him... that 2nd picture shows you the length of the pool... I'm not sure you'll find him b/c he's so far away. The first day I was a little nervous b/c they are swimming into 9 ft water with just a small bubble belt on. But he did great and will even jump off the platform. It's been really fun to watch him improve his skills and get more comfortable in the water. The pics of Wy are just random. He's a strange duck. He wanted Henry's hat and gun the other day - and then while the three of us were out in the kitchen doing some stuff, he's just walking around the family room talking to himself and pretend shooting. Thanks to Sona and David for the hat and gun last Christmas. It has provided us hours of entertainment! :)
