Tortillas and Forts

Have you ever made your own tortillas? They are soooo easy and so good! We got the recipe out of Henry's Highlights magazine for preschoolers. We had a lot of fun!
Ok, I know I already mentioned this... but winter has truly begun. This was the lastest indoor activity. It only got worse...
We did bake some chocolate chip cookies... I went upstairs to check on Wyatt and got tied up for about 15-20 minutes. I came back down and there were 3 missing cookies and a step stool in front of the kitchen counter. Hmm... what do you think... guilty?
Later that same day... yes, Henry was just getting dressed around 4pm. And yes, I was still in my pj's... oh well, Jonathan came to the rescue :)

Psalms 1:6

We never let Henry jump or stand on furniture. But, of course, we had to bribe him somehow to do this video. The minute we said he could stand on the couch to say his Bible verse, he said, "With Henry's feet?" I think he had to be sure he heard us right... funny :) He popped right up...

Hot Chocolate and other stuff

We woke up this morning to a light dusting of snow on our deck. It was frigid out! That warranted the first hot chocolate of the winter. Despite the very chilly weather the past two days, I've persuaded myself to bundle the boys out and get out for a walk. Henry loves to ride his bike, even in the wind and cold air, and I figure I can always use the fresh air. We enjoyed our hot drink today after coming in... we forgot our mittens, so the warm drinks were extra good!

Henry has been playing a lot in the living room lately. I think he's a bit intrigued by the fire place. Today I walked out there and he was sitting on the bricks with his New Testament. When I asked him what he was doing, he said he was reading Psalm 1:6, his Bible verse. Little did he know he was opened to Galatians 1 or that he only had the New Testament. :) One other funny thing... Last night, he ended up in our bed around 3am. When he got up this morning and came downstairs, the first thing he told me was, "Henry don't like that dinosaur in the backyard." Of course, I had to hear this one... so I started asking more questions. He said it was big and reached toward the sky, it had a fork, and was eating grass. And, of course, it scared Henry... which is why he came to our bed. Poor child... :) He is a dreamer... which I think is why his sleep has always been disturbed!!
A little Finger Maze action with Uncle Devon on his iPhone. Devon is not a clinger to his material possessions... :) which is why he let's Henry handle the sacred iPhone!

the last outfit

Ok - I had to post this last one. I'm just think it's hilarious in the first picture how Wyatt's little waistline is so pudgy... a well fed child!

Happy 3rd Birthday Henry!

Since today is Henry's birthday, I was taking him back through some pictures of his last year of life. I came across this video close to his birthday last year... It's so funny! And I'm reminded of how much Jonathan and I love this little boy and how we are so blessed by his life. Happy 3rd Birthday Henry! You have taught us many lessons -- and we look forward to all the time the Lord will allow us to have with you!

Henry's Birthday Party

We celebrated Henry's birthday this past wknd. It was lots of fun - aunt Beth made Henry's dream cake... I wish you could have seen his face. He was stunned!!! :)

Caeser's Creek

We just realized how close we live to Caeser's Creek. It is state park (I think) very close to us. It is beautiful!! And there is great fossil hunting much to my husband's delight :) We took Henry out there thinking he could run off some energy while searching for fossils. Well, we both forgot to grab his shoes... oh well, we still had fun and he didn't seem to mind walking on the rocks in his socks!

Jonathan's baby clothes...

This is an outfit is one of Jonathan's when he was a baby. He would have worn this in 1978... the middle pic is of Henry. I'll have one more of Jonathan's outfits to post when Wyatt wears it... it's so cool. Just wait...

Timid Tigger

Sorry, we're a little late on the trigger for Tigger... we had a busy wknd! Trick or treating was OK for the Cooper household. Henry isn't too big on scary images - and he literally had a stunned face on him the entire time and stared at everyone. We couldn't gain much ground b/c he was walking with his head turned most of the time!

We couldn't get him to even crack a smile for the camera while we were out walking... we ended up carrying him home with him saying, "That bear scared Henry... Henry don't like it." Poor guy... we felt a little bad we took him out. Oh well... live and learn!
However, when we returned home to pass out candy, he was completely happy.
Uncle Devon and Aunt Beth stopped by - all dressed up!!! :)
