Meet Wyatt

This little video will give you a taste of Wyatt's personality. He is so fun! Henry has been able to make him laugh more and more lately. It's so cute!

Not good

Seeing a picture of a toilet on our blog usually means 1 of 2 things... either Henry pooped in the toilet, which would be a memory worth capturing, or it means that we had a minor disaster, which is also a memory worth capturing (for future laughs!). I'm not sure why our minor disasters can't include things like mascara or chalk... rather, they usually include things like poop.

We had a house showing scheduled for 6pm. It's about 4:30, Jonathan's wasn't home yet but I thought he should be, and I get a phonecall from someone at work who needed a flight rebooked b/c her flight was cancelled. I check some flights (standing in the kitchen which is only about 10 feet from the scene of the crime), finish up the phonecall while holding Wyatt, and then wonder what Henry is doing b/c I haven't heard from him in a while. I walk around the corner and see him in the bathroom with an empty roll of TP. He apparently had unraveled the whole roll, put it in the toilet, and then proceeded to flush the toilet repeatedly. The water is to the very top of the bowl, but not overflowing. I immediately throw Wyatt into his crib, remove Henry from the bathroom, and stopped for about a 1/2 second to think. I grab the phone to call my Devon since he is just down the street. Not home. I think of calling Jonathan, of course, but our cell phones are out of order. Then I hear it... running water... I run back to the bathroom and OH NO... water is just running EVERYWHERE. The toilet is still running... I took the lid off but could not remember which gadget to yank on or unlatch or unhoook... I have memories flashing of my dad doing this a million times while growing up... I majorly panic as I see water running onto the tiles and on my feet and I call my neighbor. She sends her husband over who just had a back injury. I keep wondering why in the world he is moving so slow -- I was thinking... c'mon!!! Do you not see my toilet is overflowing??? I then rememeber he has seriously injured his back!!! He turns the water off and then does the unlatching or unhooking thing -- and I say.. Jeff, I'm so sorry.. I forgot you had hurt your back....

All was well.. I mopped up the mess - gave Henry a good talking to, and then proceeded downstairs to throw the towels into the washer. On my way down the stairs, I'm thinking of all the things that could have happened, I was thankful that's all it was. It was clean, the showing was in about 45 minutes, nothing to worry about... thank you Lord. I rounded the corner in the basement, went to open the laundry shoot door, and stepped in a puddle of water. Oh no... the water had overflowed from the ceiling and had went all over the downstairs toilet and sink. Panic again... the rug was wet, the concrete was wet, and my husband was on his way home. He knew nothing yet and he does not handle news like this well. The first question always is, "How in the world did this happen?"... as if I had just left Henry in charge. So I prepped him before he even came in the door - it didn't work. But all is well now - we got it taken care of, had the showing for the house, and life went on... I think we just made it another tier up on the parenting ladder...

Hair cuts...

For some reason, I agree to cut Henry's hair. I suppose I'm doing it to save money, but I really do not enjoy it. I don't enjoy cutting Jonathan's either which is why I sent him to the barber a long time ago. However, he (Jonathan) has decided that he would like me to cut his hair again. I think it's b/c he saw I bought new clippers and it's led him to believe that means I must enjoy cutting hair. All of this to say... I cut Jonathan and Henry's hair this past wknd -- I'm not sure they even turned out good. In fact, I'm sure they didn't... but oh well. We still made some fun memories doing it - Henry got a popsicle afterwards. I put in a little picture of Wyatt - no, I didn't cut his hair! :) But he enjoyed the excitement of it all!

Columbus Zoo

We made it to the zoo! We had a lot of fun and Henry really liked it. He was cautious of the boat ride - I think he thought he was going to fall in the water. He kept saying, "No wal-lit, no wal-lit" -- (that's how he pronounces 'water' - so cute!)But once he realized he was going to stay in the boat, he was all about it. Wyatt did great too - he was pretty lazy all day and just napped in his stroller off and on. Henry was asleep in the car before we even got out of the parking lot to go home... we finally wore him out! Fun memories!

Visit from Mama and Papa Cooper

It was so fun to have visits from both sets of grandparents in one week! The Cooper's came to visit after they went to a play in Cinci (they don't get that dressed up just to come see us!).
They came bearing gifts, of course. Henry looks like a gnome! :)
We took a walk through the woods - it was so beautiful out b/c it had rained. Everything was so green! We are so thankful for wonderful grandparents and two wonderful boys. They are both such wonderful blessings from God.

Our first visit to the pool

When Mom and Dad were here, we made our first visit to the Kettering Rec Center. They have an awesome kid pool -- Henry loved it! We took him a lot last year, but he was still fairly little. I was a little nervous this time b/c he had no problem with the water... he was in and out and under and as happy as ever! He kept saying, "This is fun! This is fun!"

Aunt Beth came with us, and we were all cracking up when she just decided to go under the mushroom of water! This, however, convinced Henry he was ready for it! :)

Meemaw and Pa Berry visit!

My mom and dad were able to visit this past wknd. It was so good to see them - we have missed them greatly while they have been building their house (which is now done!). Henry LOVES Papa (pronounced pawpaw). He'd wake up and the first thing out of his mouth was, "Where's Papa?" And then when he'd find him, he'd say, "Papa, c'mon. Let's play ball." Keep in mind this is 7am. It's so sweet to see how even a 2-year old can have a wonderful relationship with grandparents.

Our Little Wyatt

We love Wyatt. He is so precious. He has such a sweet personality and has become very laid back. He is really into squealing right now... squeals when he is excited and I think he knows it gets him attention.

YOUNG's Dairy - Cedarville, OH

Over the wknd, we took the kiddos to Young's Dairy with Devon and Beth. We had a blast!!! They have a petting zoo that Henry loved, but he REALLY loved the tractors and the ride. If there is a 2-year old heaven, he was in it! :) We all had a really great time!! It is so fun to see a little boy's face light up...

Daddy's boys

I'm not sure who is enjoying the bed more in this picture... Henry or Jonathan. This is why I don't let Jonathan put Henry to bed very often :) He always says Henry needed him to lay with him.... I know it's the opposite - Jonathan needed a little evening break!
We're wondering if Wyatt is going to have any red hair in him....

Bath time and more...

Henry has been quite the little helper during bath time. I can't turn my head for one second. He is so helpful - he even pours water on Wyatt's face :) Oh my...
Wyatt is growing more and more everyday! He is so pleasant now that he is through his newborn days, and he is smiling all the time. He is a real sweetie - we're hoping he survives through these infant years. Henry is pretty rough with him. It'll be good when he can protect himself :) Meanwhile, we're trying to teach Henry the real meaning of gentleness...

Weedwacking and more...

It's too bad we can't allow Henry to use the real lawn equipment -- we'd have an immaculate lawn. It's all he wants to do right now! Oh that... and play underneath Wyatt's play gym - I'm not sure who is enjoying it more!

Indy Mini-Marathon

Last year, we ran the Flying Pig Mini in Cincinnati. This year, Jonathan ran the Indy 500 Festival Mini. I didn't think I had enough time to train after the baby and would rather take on some 5k's first! :) He did awesome. His goal was to finish with 8-minute miles, and he did just about that. His official time was 1hr 48min. Way to go Jonathan!! You did awesome! I did not go down with the kids b/c it was just too packed w/ 35,000 runners and then the fans. But, amazingly enough, they televise it and we saw him come through the finish line on TV!!! We were so excited!! It made up for not being there. David and Sona were able to see him at the finish which was so encouraging for Jonathan. Sona snapped the pics... Thanks Sona! The last picture is one of the start line - it gives you an idea of how many runners there are.
